Free & Cheap Chapbooks
This list is inspired by the Sealey Challenge, and is one I pulled together in hopes of making this time more accessible to those who might not have libraries with a wide poetry selection, or the budget to buy 30 books in 30 days.
Nicole Sealey’s Sealey Challenge page has lots of free and cheap resources, too. Take a look!

Bomb Magazine does a yearly roundup of “top 10” in time for holiday seasons that focus on small presses. (It’s a list I look for/love/have purchased from!) So thrilling to see Barrow Street, my publisher, there!
*Of course, don’t forget about Bookshop.org, or ordering directly from the publisher, especially in these days where Small Press Distribution has gone under, and many very small presses may follow because of distribution issues with their stock in transferring to another distributor. They need our money now more than ever!
**No matter how you get the books you read, please suggest ALL the books you enjoy to your local library, which can often mean the difference between the librarian having “permission” to buy it/seek it out, and the book not being bought for lack of buying support/budget choices made elsewhere.
*If you would like help with polishing a manuscript or finding a home for your work that reflects your values as a poet, take a look at the ways we could work together, or please reach out!
